The oirigin of the Hindi script is Sanskrit and that of Urdu is Persian or Farsi. In fact the dialogue  of almost all  hindi films are in urdu and very classical UP urdu,but are  reffered to as hindi films, especially the songs...majority are  in Urdu language. Urdu poetry has no comparison.
