Where the Mind is Without Fear by Rabindranauth Tagore
Where the mind is without fear
And the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where tireless striving stretches out its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason have not lost its way
Into the deary sand of dead habits
And words have not been broken down into fragments by narrow domestic walls
Into that heaven of freedom, my father
Into that path of thought and action
Let my country awake

I have all the answers but you are stealing my thunder
I am working on a ZGGS article and will talk of many of these things
Jane i really mean it ( and i am kinda pressuring you now ), i think you gat fu pen some essays here.
i have so much to write and i am like oozing with energy when i see these juicy little notes.
Here is what i am working on:
- PArt 2 of Anna Catherina article
- A map of anna catherina - making it
- A framework for a certain village write up (surprise)
- One of our posters ( full credit but have to ask permission before i reveal his name) is working on a historical sketch of a village - if there are no photos, a sketch will do. I asked this gentleman if he could do it, and he graciously obliged.
- A ZGGS article
- And i have to do a welcome page write up - my kids bug me to get this done

Jane, no problem, just jesting
Yes, I know the Haniffs. Hassan ( short boy) was in my year. He was in Nat Science. He studied in Venezuela and lived in North Carolina. He wrote me a few times but lost touch.
His sister Bibi Zainool i think amy have been in Nat Sc too. Cant remember. Their dad was a Chemist at Uitvlugt. Very nice kids.
There was a smaller sister who had a disability and came to school in a wheel chair. Burnham sent her a present after his visit to ZGGS.
Take your time and write something close to heart - like the trials, tribulations, rewards, successes ( there are many) of Leguan students. If you don't and I beat you to it , well you will have to correct me.
Got to go, client paying me too much money fu dis!!

Two distinct odors at ZBGSS were: The smell from the goats that grazed under the stage of the old school and the stench from the toilets as you walk from the gate towards the old school.
The high school that closed and the students were taken in at ZBGSS was Saraswat / Nattoo High School. Now guys don't get on my case if I am wrong because I was just a toddler in '68 but, I heard my eldest cousin talked about the closure of that school.

You had to go through the street from the main road by Mandall's store towards the third street and make a right. Somewhere in that street I know of a family by the name of Samad. The girl [I know her name] had long straight hair and was very quiet. She and her younger brother both went to Zeeburg School. I think her mother sold vegetables at the market but I am not 100% certain since, I left Guyana quite a number of years ago.
I believe the Samads resides in Canada and that quiet girl got married to a fellow that attended Zeeburg School. I saw his name mentioned a few times on this forum.

McVan, yes, you got it all correct!!. i am married to the eldest son (2nd child in the family, and from him to the youngest, they all went to zgss), he left Gy in '73. i don't know many people in zeeburg as i left Gy one week after i got married so i never lived on the WC, but i know all kinds of stories from living with WC people for the last 30 years.

CountryGirl:
Well, I know that family and they know my family as well. As a matter of fact, now that you are talking about your husband I kinda remember him. I think he was tall, slim and fair in complexion. He was a quiet guy also and I saw him on his bicycle a lot. As a matter of fact that entire family was quiet and decent.
I remember my sister would send me to their house to borrow books from your sister-in-law. She read a lot of Louis L'Amour, Barbara Cartland and Ludlum novels. I was around ten or eleven then and loved to go get books from her because she sometimes sends a lot of Archie Comics, Tin-Tin and Pecos Bill comics. I remember they had a neatly kept yard and the house was tall as everything seem to be coming back to mind now.
