Actually, I made a mistake and called him Uncle Hakila when i went back in 1992 ( very very kind to me ) and he just smiled. The Aunty, then said Baab, yu know how you uncle Sony get dah name.....and she explained to me. Of course, they had me sit at the bottom house, eating dongs, drinking coconut water, eating sugar cake in my 4 hour stay. They are very nice people, Mr. and Mrs. Gafoor.

How do you not remember Mal's shop?
His shop was situated two houses from that elderly Muslim couple who sold snacks at the end of the street approaching the school's bridge. The lady had numerous piercing on both ears and she wore many many earrings. Her husband had white beard and he wore one of those round hats [more like a skull cap] all the time.
As a matter of fact, if someone sat in the last classroom of the old auditorium or in the classroom after the old auditorium [Room #3 or Room #4] and look across the trench, he/she would be looking directly at Mal's shop.
By the way, I remember Kamo as a serious lady mostly because I knew her younger sisters. I am sure you are familiar with that automatic feeling of respect you have for your elders.
Daag was not a very bad chap [as you stated he became Kamo’s friend later on], but he hung out with some guys that were quite intimidating. I had a few run-ins with the lot because they used to antagonize the first year boys a lot.
However, later on I learned how to get along with that group because if I didn’t, I would have had to transfer to another school. Basically those guys needed something to do but, the resources were not there.

Wolf had a shop opposite the Police Station at Leonora...so Abidees is corrrect and Sheikh Aftabudeen Shakoor was our classmate....he is related to Fazeela Cheeatow....his sister Shanaz was our course junior as you mentioned.
Jane remembers so much....i wished i did too...but some of it is coming back, especially about the folks from Leguan

so real thati dont even know the correct anmes of someof these folks...
andyes..we actually callled them these names..and better yet..they responded..
back then 'false names' were not offensive...
it was just a form of teasing...
and most times , there was some kind of reason for soemone to get a 'false name'
like oneof my bros.."GUNNS"
he loved the movie called 'guns of navarone'
and talked non-stop about it..
so he is stillknown as "Gunns' today...
then there was this old lady in our village...called 'ole-higue janie'...of course Jane was her name...
so one of my OWN bro used to call me 'ole-higue-janey' for the simple reason that i was a "TOUCH_ME_NAT"
OK!!!!!!!!! Na(m)an.................dotn get too excited!
anyway....as i got older....he shortened that name to 'janey' and still calles me 'janey' to this day!!!!!even when i speak to him on the phone nowadays!!!

i know the muslim couple at the corner....we used to buy penny mauby and 'pine-drink' in those days..( i later wondered y they called it 'pine-'drink'..it was kool-aid i think...)...

all i know of was mr G's mom who sold eatables outside of the sch yard!!!
