Jane you are so helpful. You mention R. Ramdeen...u mean Squii from Dewillem right?!! That makes me remember a guy name Imdad Hussein who I went to leonora Primary with in Common Entrance class.
I went to Endeavour on school tour also...at the Dutch Church when I was in Std. 3. We had lunch on the Dutchmen graves!!!
I don't remember Charles but i remeber Cecil Singh (Billy) who died tragically in an industrial accident in Canada. How is Mindra and Shanta doing? Are you in touch? And yes and I remember "dressup man" Rahaman Khan.

Hello Jane and Naman.....i have been reading ur posts on ZGSS and WC and leguan and feeling very left out since i didn't know any on the people you were talking about, until i saw the name Cecil Singh (Billy...i attended his funeral, his death was so very tragic and sad)....i know all of his siblings. one of his sisters and i have lived in the same small town west of TO for many, many years and are good friends.

Squii was ramadin..not ramdeen!!!
yuh not a coolie man or what??? watch the speeling bro!!!
(just kidding)..lol
this guy was from leguan..but quite younger..maybe 3 yrs my jnr...
squii and wakkar r in california..
u'll find squi in the guy. directory online..
i sent em tohim once..(i was his neighbor for 6 mths..ie lived with padma's sister, kamo, in de Willem back st during the last 6 mths of my time at zbgss...)
he replied say that that he sees wakkar often...
about the church in leguan..it was at enterprise, not endeavour...
st peter's anglican church with the high steeple..
im not sure..but i seem to remeber that people used to climbs stairs to go up to the top of that steeple...........
but i could be mistaken...
too long man!!!
actually there was the sch in the same yard...all the way back near to the river!!!
lots of tombs..and huge trees..right??? lovely scenery.....
it used to ne one of the wonderful landmarks and tourist destination in those days...
it was located minute from the stelling...
my parents lived about 1 mile past that church...
so Na(m)an now u have an idea how much traveling i did to get an education at zbgss, right???
i should say all the leguanians!!!!
that ferry used to depart stelling at 6 am ...so we were up from 4 am to get ready..and most walked to the stelling..
and we would arrive home at nights..anytime between 6-8 pm..all depended on the last train from vree-en-hoop..whether it was late or not...then later when that was scrapped..
it was low tide with the ferry being stuck on sand back or it breaking down 1/2 way and drifting....
my goodness...can u imagine daily commuting for 5 yrs!!!!
bu t it was fun..i utilized that time to complete all homework..and write notes etc...
some of the kids had to walk to and from the stelling...because there were 2 buses on the island....and not many hire cars in those days...
i was one of the fortunate ones..my brothers used to take me on biccycle.....never mind a ll the bumps in the dark..and the hungry dogs chasing after u......lol
then later my oldest brother lived across that same church..so i was only 10 mins away from stelling...

Poyo was a class ahead of me. Parbo a class or two behind. Charles Singh was the son of the headmaster from St. Peters Anglican Primary. I know Mindra and Alya- aren't they your cousins Jane? Shanta is somewhere in Jersey.
Jane I saw your mother around late Nov. early Dec. last year when I was home visiting, she looking healthy.

VJ/Jane: Surprisingly, i don't remember Parbo nor Charles Singh, but am glad to hear that Mindra and Shanta are doing well. VJ, if Poyo and Co. were 1 year ahead of you, then you must know Gargi (Rabindranauth Persaud ) from New Road, Satesh Ram Parsan, Fred, Sham, Henry, Shirene, Nirmala etc. right? May I ask which section you were in, arts or science?
Jane, Wow... you are really in touch with so many people, unlike me. Do you remember Chew-wee from Zeeburg (CSR 1976). He used to live next to Mandal. And yes, I do remember Seeta and Sulochan Singh and the tragic death of their father. Satesh Ram Parsan's father aslo passed away suddenly when we were in Form 3. Satesh house name is Mukesh. He Fred, Sham and Mohan used to stick together like glue.
Anyway, Gargi and I were good friends and I have also wondered about his whereabouts.

I do not recall much of the upperclassmen. I was in 4B, Baboo was my home room teacher and 5Bii Bud Spencer was my home room teacher. I do remember Julliane Rhambarose, Debra Dye (she was a Champion Girl and kicked ass at nationals), Shelly Giddings. I was not friends with them not friends though. Some of my classmates and or friends were - Leonard Sookram, Jai Mahadeo, Sahadeo Ajodhi, Noel Jaglall, Ramnarine Deonarine "Bramo", Rosantie Debedin, Frazalia Ghannie, Amjad Samad, teacher Hossein's brother who has passed away, Kelvin Murray, Daby Jaggernauth, Sabeeha Rahaman, Golin, Kochie, etc. I went to ZbGSS after I took CP so I spent one term in Form 3C, Prakash was my hoome room and spanish teacher.

Jane: I know most of the people in your family. Your bougie Vido was my teacher at St. Peters. I know that Mindra, Alya and Nadia are sisters. What I thought was that they are your cousins - that is that your fathers were brothers.
Didn't Monkey recently passed away. And oh I used to live across from the hospital - you know who I am.
